The user software has a familiar interface which makes it easy to use for all skill levels. The Event Manager will alert you in the event of a problem or missed backup, so "no news is good news!" If there is trouble, it only takes one click of the mouse to get back on the right track.
NovaNet-WEB leverages a technology called Microsoft Structured Storage for storing all user data. The purpose of Structured Storage is to reduce the performance penalties and overhead associated with storing separate objects in a single file. For example, Microsoft uses Structured Storage to save Word and Excel document files.
Structured Storage provides a solution by defining how to handle a single file entity as a structured collection of two types of objects - storages and streams - through a standard implementation called Compound Files. This enables the user to interact with, and manage, a compound file as if it were a single file rather than a nested hierarchy of separate objects (Microsoft). NovaNet-WEB uses Structured Storage as a way to manage multiple versions of a file within a single "physical" file, greatly reducing the burden of file instance management and data integrity testing and processing.
Structured storage has similar cluster constraints to that of typical hard drive geometry. In the case of NovaNet-WEB, the structure storage cluster size is 4 Kilobytes (KB).
